Abstinence

Peace and cold in the warm sun
Hearthful of lonely collector pride
Things
Seen, heard, and felt
Things to be had
Were it not for pride
Things to be seen, of course.
Tings to be chased and stalked
And proudly displayed with artistic flair.
So eager to flaunt and impress
So timid
As if there were any objectors
As if it were a crime
As if they'd be here forever
In the cool sun
Those boats weren't made for this.
